Decadent and sticky with a sharp edge of earthiness and minerality, this inaugural vintage from the Kiler Canyon estate is full of layers that will beautifully unfurl with a few years of aging. Perfumed whiffs of lavender blossom and graphite are quick to present with fruitful yet leathery layers of blackberry compote and dry raspberry. White pepper, clove, and sweet cedar display pools of depth as a contrast to the fruitful and perfumed side. The entry is full of ripe black cherry and bright cranberry juice before oozing into a broad and lushly textured mid-palate of plum flesh and fresh leather. Bright and syrup notes of Pimm’s Cup and pomegranate seeds provide continued brightness as the wine finishes dark and rich with notes of charred cedar plank and fig syrup.
